//Tour Diary

Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, Aisle16 are on tour bringing POETRY to the MASSES. It’s an amazing job, not only cos we get to meet loads of great people, but because we are the ONLY PEOPLE ALIVE WITH THE TALENT and DETERMINATION TO SUCCEED! We couldn’t do it without the fans. And our manager’s friend Danbo. Thanks!

Below is an extract from our tour diary from earlier this year. So step into OUR WORLD and turn off the lights. We hope you like it!

EXCLUSIVE BEHIND-THE-SCENES TOUR DIARY!

/Wednesday 11th May

The boys visit Hillview Middle School in Calais. For local accommodation near the concert, visit this site for Calais Hotels. The boys spend the morning signing foreheads. Luke becomes angry when his shoes go missing. After an exhaustive search, the items are recovered, but sadly no time remains for either a performance or a workshop. Next stop Prestatyn!

/Friday 13th May

After a brief detour to buy a road atlas, the boys arrive at Prestatyn Comp only three hours behind schedule. Although the gig is cancelled, a good time is had by all and the day is a resounding success. Using the time to recover from the strains of touring, Joel and Chris attempt to steal an ashtray from Mecca Bingo, while Ross deliberately gives himself an asthma attack on a bouncy castle. Despite a small misunderstanding with the local police, all the boys make it back onto the tourbus in time for the next leg of their journey.

/Sunday 15th May

Due to a typo on the itinerary, the boys end up performing at Loughborough Sealife centre. “I hope we get the SEAL of approval!” jokes Joel. “Yes,” says Luke, ‘or we might end up talking at CROSS PORPOISES!” Because of excessively high spirits, the gig is cancelled.

/Wednesday 18th May

The crowds in Oldham go CRAZY for the boys, and they have difficulty driving the tourbus through the packed city streets. Leaning out of the windows to sign autographs and blow kisses to their fans, the boys eventually reach the venue, only to be informed by police that they will have to leave again, as a race riot is in progress.

/Saturday 21st May

On a rare day off, the boys visit the seaside. Luke builds a sandcastle. Chris builds a sand armoured personnel carrier. Ross is resuscitated by the coastguard. Joel goes missing for several hours and is eventually found in a cave, sorting pebbles according to size. He is eventually coaxed back onto the tourbus.

/Tuesday 24th May

The tourbus breaks down just outside Coventry. While Chris attempts to fix it, Ross and Luke set off to find a garage. Joel stays in the bus with the curtains drawn. With the engine fixed, they’re soon on their way again. Hooray! Ross and Luke eventually catch up somewhere near Birmingham.

/Wednesday 25th May

Tempers are flaring on the Aisle16 tourbus. Ross thinks that Luke’s new accessory is ‘tacky’. Luke disapproves of the cadence of Chris’s latest trochee. Joel punches the driver for ‘excessive indicating’. The police postpone the gig at Manchester Apollo until the boys can remember where they have buried their manager.

/Friday 10th June

Now on separate tourbuses, Aisle16 are back on the road. Each bus takes an idiosyncratic route to the venue to ensure no two routes accidentally collide. The boys arrive at the Newcastle Tub-Club in two-hour intervals: Chris arrives through the stage door, Joel through the main entrance, Ross through the carpark and Luke through the bathroom window. Management decide to pull the gig after Joel attempts to bum-rush security with a sword.

/Sunday 12th June

Putting their differences aside, Aisle16 reunite for a photo-shoot in the London Eye. There are hugs and tears and lots of drug dealers. Many present declare it to be the most touching pop reunion since The Beatles. Sadly, by the time the photographers arrive, their pod has ascended the wheel too high for any usable publicity shots.
